BIO

Born in Canada, currently living in Los Angeles, CA.

Hello! My name is Kimberly Schoenberger and I am a 5th year PhD candidate at the University of Southern California in the Department of Biological Sciences. I am also a graduate student in-residence at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County in Vertebrate Paleontology and Mammalogy.

My PhD is a multidisciplinary project centered around evolution and adaptations of the Channel Island fox (Urocyon littoralis). I have three core branches of my research: brain size and skull evolution, long bone growth and development, and immune-related transcriptomics.

Prior to this project, I pivoted from a career in digital design and video production to pursue my scientific education, and am passionate about merging my expertise in both fields to develop unique approaches to research.

I am planning to defend my dissertation in Spring 2027 and am currently seeking a postdoctoral position for Summer/Fall 2027!
